Who We Are...
  • Our Mission Statement:

Vision: We are a healing, redemptive fellowship committed to the worship of the Living God, evangelizing the unsaved and assimilating the saved into the body toward a godly world view for the 21st century. We facilitate spiritual maturity through equipping, mentoring, discipling, small groups, necessary staffing and facility development.

  Staff Team:

As a servant-team, we gladly encourage you to get better acquainted with our church family and friends. We are grateful for the stability and strength that comes from the past and the faithful foundation of community ministry that has been built since our church incorporation in 1854. But we are also excited about the fresh vision and opportunities for growth that exist now and in our future that will bring new possibilities to fulfill our missional living summed up in our purpose statement above.

Celebrate with us our church home – a special place in a world that can often be unnerving, lonely and uncaring. Share our commitment to the Bible, prayer, ministry and excellence together. Appreciate this network of people who, with God’s help, provide a friendly place to grow in knowing and living God’s unchanging Word in a rapidly changing world.

 Pastoral Team:

Ministries Pastor:  contact@fbclowell.org
W. Lee Taylor, "PT" for short, is serving in an administrative role with FBC for over 10 years.  With many years of ministry in Youth and Student areas, he still retains a young-at-heart spirit and perspective.  Pastor Lee coordinates countless facility, office, organizational, calendar and administrative details with his signature smile and insight.

Pastor of Student Ministries & Outreach:

philip_j_severn@cornerstone.edu

WELCOME to "Pastor Phil!"  We have been in a search mode for a man for this ministry, and praying for Phil and Sandy Severn.  On Sunday, January 17, 2010, the FBC Family voted to call Phil to this ministry position to begin on January 25.  Phil and Sandy come to us from ministry with Kentwood Baptist Church in Kentwood, Michigan.  Phil is completing his degree in Youth Ministry and Bible from Cornerstone University this year, having previously studied with Philadelphia Biblical University.  Sandy has degrees in Bible and Education and serves as the Assistant Director of Appletree Christian Learning Center in Lowell, MI.  Pray for their transition to FBC.   More information is posted on the "INTIMACY WITH GOD" page on this site.

We intentionally partner with several church and service groups and outreach ministries who embrace our Biblically based beliefs and convictions as part of the greater expression of the Body of Christ. This includes our fellowship with the Grand Rapids Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GRARBC), the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches (MARBC), and the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches (GARBC).
